Friends,
We just wanted to take a moment to thank each of you personally for your generosity, faithfulness and selflessness over the past several months. I know that Wyatt and Abby considered each of you a blessing in an area of great need. They were able to spend such sweet time together in the last months of Wyatt’s life due in large part to you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
As you know, Wyatt passed away last week after a long battle with cancer. The memorial service was bittersweet, beautiful and honoring. As Wyatt would have liked, we had some laughs, but we also shed a lot of tears. The good news is that the Lord promises joy in the midst of sorrow, peace in the midst of grief and redemption in the midst of suffering. We witnessed that first-hand this weekend, and we hope you have found the same.
As we have had the opportunity to speak with Abby, she is currently planning to live in Thomasville for the foreseeable future. She has a great community there, who love her unconditionally and relentlessly, and we are so thankful for them. They have been more than we could have ever asked or imagined for her.
We did want to make this our last post for this blog as a way of bringing closure. If you would like, there is still an opportunity to donate to the Wyatt Mitchell Medical Project through Helping Hands. Even though Wyatt has passed, the medical expenses related to his treatment and funeral are still very real. Should you be interested in continuing to contribute, a group of us will continue monthly contributions for the next 6 months, at a minimum. We hope that will cover medical bills that continue to arrive and will give Abby some time to apply for teaching jobs without panic. To be clear, we do not expect anyone to donate, as your generosity has been incredible already. We would, however, be remiss without letting you know of this opportunity to take care of a friend in the most literal biblical sense.
Should you feel lead to contribute with us, if you have any additional questions, or if you would like to make us aware of your plans to contribute for planning purposes, feel free to email John at johnmattioli@gmail.com. You can also contact Helping Hands directly:
- Visit www.hhmin.org
- Select “Donate to a Helping Hands Approved Project”

- Scroll to “Mitchell, Wyatt”
We are looking forward to continuing to love Abby well, as best as we humbly can. Thank you again, and God bless!
Sincerely,
Kyle Belcher
